5Monique, extremely welcoming, welcomes us with a special affection and that from the beginning to the end of the accommodation we feel at home. Very comfortable room and everything with a special detail. We started the day with a unique breakfast, Monique, Jessica (our Brazilian friend) and Peter gave several tips from Bruges, a beautiful city, where the location of the B&B make all the difference. Thank you so much for making our trip even more special and wonderful.

Al pia o terra c è una piccola hammam perfetta . 5From the road it looks a little like a shop front, but once inside the courtyard a different story emerges. This small B&B is very welcoming and Monique the landlady is a little gem and full of useful information. It is compact and also good on the eye, with little extra touches everywhere. Being only three renting rooms, it is also more personal. OK, not the cheapest but good value for money. Sadly there is no lift because of the age of the building, so not for mobility impaired, but on saying that it is only two short flights of stairs, about 24 or 26 steps at the most. I had a lovely time staying there, and was sad to leave this amazing place.

5My husband and I absolutely LOVED this B&B and are so happy that we chose it for our three-night stay in Bruges. From the moment we arrived, the owner made us feel right at home. She met us at the front door, took our bags up to our room and had such a pleasant and welcoming personality, which is exactly what you want when you arrive at a B&B. The 3 bedroom B&B is full of charm, cleanliness, all the amenities you need - even a Hammam steam bath on the 1st floor, which was a great amenity to have. The breakfast each morning from 8:30 until 10am was very tasty, full of variety and we were served, which is very nice. Everything was fresh (including the orange juice!). The bed was SUPER comfortable and the bedding was top notch. The walk from the B&B to Bruges city center is about 10 minutes and it is a very easy and charming walk as you pass by the cute shops and many wonderful cafes and restaurants. The B&B has great security and a lovely outdoor patio and indoor gathering area and quiet, which is a bonus. To sum up our stay, we felt completely taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left and our room was very well appointed and comfortable. The owners really do put a lot of effort into making sure their guests have a memorable and comfortable stay. In addition, we drove and there was a reserved car space for us close by for a nominal nightly fee and I eat gluten free and accommodations were made for my breakfast.

5We have just returned home from a fantastic trip to Bruges. We stayed in Asinello B&B and what an amazing place, made more special by the fabulous and friendly hosts Monique and Peter. From the moment we walked through the door to the time we said goodbye they made our stay relaxing and memorable. The accommodation is not only stylish but spotlessly clean and the breakfast was amazing. And what a comfy bed we had as well. We will definitely stay at Asinello B&B again and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bruges.

5I nice comfortable room. Modern looking, good shower and clean bathroom. Breakfast was very complete with healthy fruits, yoghurts and bread. The hosts are very polite and gave us a warm welcome. It is located in the centre of Brugge within walking distance. The rooms are located at the back of the house so you don't get noises from the street. The house is modern equiped with design furniture and comfortable beds and chairs. You can sit, relax and read your book if you want. In short: best place to stay when you are in Brugge, you won't regret.

5Klar - das Assinello kostet sein Geld! Klar.

5My boyfriend and I stayed here 24th-27th November, for the opening weekend of the christmas markets 2016. This is the perfect place to stay, I'm so glad we found it. Location: Was fantastic. It was about 10 Euro from the train station, which we were happy to pay and was only 8 euro on the way back. It was within walking distance to the town centre, probably only 5 minutes! Which was great for nipping back and forth. Room: The room was gorgeous. We stayed on the top floor, with a huge comfortable bed, probably the comfiest I've ever slept in! We had a TV, lots of wardrobe space, a sofa which also rolled out to a double bed, lots of floor space and a beautiful modern bathroom with a walk in shower and big jacuzzi bath. The B&B also has a Turkish bath that is available anytime and was free to use. The family were lovely, they couldn't do anymore than what they did for us. Always made sure we were looked after in the mornings during breakfast and they were very helpful with information regarding places to visit and their personal experiences. I wouldn't think twice about where to stay if I ever visited Brugge again, it would be this place hands down. The place is so welcoming, clean and modern, I genuinely cannot fault it! Also the querkiness of the pieces of art around the place definitely made it unique and added a lot of character!

The rooms are wonderful too and we have had the biggest room both times and it is a nice place to be home away from home!

5Just north of the market square, this B&B is in the ideal location for exploring Bruges. Its on a quiet street and you enter via a charming courtyard. We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and Monqiue was very helpful; telling us about Bruges and the local highlights. Our room was excellent, lovely big bed and amazing bathroom with a double shower and jacuzzi bath. The breakfast was fresh, with lots of choice and very tasty. I would highly recommend a stay at Aisnello when visiting Bruges.

Jederzeit wieder!!

5Vorig weekend bleven we 2 nachten in B&B Asinello in suite Germaintje.

5We stayed at the asinello for only 2 days. Best b&b we've ever stayed in. We only wished we stayed here in bruges instead of going to Paris. My wife even received a birthday present from the very nice and helpful owner. A very nice gesture. Thanks for the best 2 days of our holiday. We will be back.

5The B and B is tucked away off the street and away from the busy tourists. A real haven after a busy day site seeing. Very friendly greeting and the room we stayed in was very modern and clean with a beautiful en suite with jacuzzi and separate double shower. Breakfast had a decent continental choice. It's decorated in a very modern style with lots of modern art and lots of donkeys! (Due to the name of the street! ) There is an outside seating area with decking and a small pond. Its very sweet and I would highly recommend for a weekend away as your hub to visiting Bruges.

5A fantastic B&B located north of the main square and belfry in Bruges - only 5 mins walk from the centre. The room (we stayed in Baptiste) was excellent - large ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi and large shower. The whole B&B is very spacious with tasteful styling throughout. It is set back from the main street, so it is very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast is plentiful and is a very good start to the day. Wifi is strong throughout the B&B, which these days makes things easier (in my opinion). Monique is a welcoming host. I'd certainly recommend this B&B and we will be returning.

Very good breakfast, super comfy bed and a lovely big bathroom with jacuzzi bath (we stayed in the suite - it's worth the upgrade as we had so much space which was welcome for a four day trip as there is not really 4 days worth if interest in Brugge!)

5Stayed for two nights in October and can't fault the place. Located in a quiet street only 10 mins walk from Bruges central market place, the room (Suite) was fantastic with a jacuzzi bath and large walk in shower. Very modern and clean. Breakfast was continental buffet style and everything was beautifully fresh. Monique the owner was extremely helpful, providing walking routes to see the not so touristy parts of Bruges. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer ! We will definitely visit Bruges again and would stay in the Asenello again without hesitation. Marcus & Nicky (UK)

5The b&b is nicely decorated, the owners especially Monica, are very friendly. The location is excellent about 5 mins on the taxi from the station and you can walk to the main market square It takes about 10 minutes. The room is very quiet and dark. The shower is very modern and the room had everything we needed. Last of all the breakfast in the morning was delicious there were a variety of breads spreads etc and best of all fresh fruit!!!!!! I would recommend to all.

5We stayed at Asinello at the start of September for a mini honeymoon. We arrived and were greeted by the owner who showed us to the room (we were offered drinks but really wanted to drop our bags and get settled after a long journey). The B and B is clean, modern and has lots of lovely touches such as rubber ducks, donkey toys, sweets on the bed and colour-coordinated bathrobes. The beds are extremely comfortable, with extra pillows provided and a soft, fluffy blanket should you get cold. The bathroom and toilet in our room were both super modern with all the mod cons and toiletries supplied. The towels were changed daily. The hotel also has a lovely courtyard with decking, a pond, tables and chairs, etc and everything is set back from the main road so it's really quiet. After a restful night's sleep we woke up and went downstairs to a delicious continental breakfast with tea, coffee, croissants, pain au chocolat, yogurt, a selection of fresh breads, cakes, meat, cheese, jams, nutella and cereals. The owner was also on hand to give us tips on our visit (including a non-touristy route around Bruges that takes in some of the sights the guidebooks won't tell you about). The next morning we made use of the hammam after breakfast which was as nice as steam rooms I've been to at spas. During our stay it felt as if nothing was too much to ask, but equally we were left to our own devices (something I often worry about with B and Bs as some owners can be a bit too keen!) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Asinello to anyone thinking of staying in Bruges.

Sofie Van Grieken

5Afgelopen weekend 3 nachten in B&B Asinello verbleven.

Einfach Klasse...

5An easy walk to the historic centre, this is a small family run B&B set back from the road with a small number of rooms. Very friendly and helpful owners (good restaurant recommendations and booked one for us before we arrived). There is a great steam room that you can use, free of charge. The room we had was the smaller of those available, but perfectly okay for us for a long weekend break. Clean, with a good shower, and enough storage space. There was a TV but we didn't use it. We slept really well. There is a small courtyard area that would be good in the summer.

5On our recent trip to Europe we stayed in numerous hotels and B&Bs and we can truly say there were none better than Asinello. It has so much going for it; a great location (it’s situated in the old part of town and is only a leisurely 5 minute stroll from the town centre), a modern contemporary styling, comfortable bed, a huge shower with plenty of hot water and whilst it was cold outside we were nice and toasty inside. We stayed for two nights in the Marie room which also has a nice view of the front courtyard. However, what impressed us the most was the hospitality of our hosts Monique, Peter and Lore. We arrived a little later than planned but Monique was there to welcome us with the offer of a nice glass of wine and a chat. Monique has an obvious love of her city and provided us with a great walking tour of the old town which we embarked on the next day. She’s a great host and be sure to get up for breakfast. You won’t be disappointed. Finally, we just couldn’t finish this review without mentioning the Hamman, a Turkish style steam room built by Peter which is available for use by the guests. You’ve just got to try it! We have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful establishment to whoever is contemplating a visit to Bruges, which is without doubt one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Our only regret is we didn’t stay there longer.

5My husband and I stayed for 2 nights, celebrating our anniversary. The hosts, Monique and Peter, are amazing...very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We brought our bikes along and they let us store them in the outdoor seating area - which is off from the street, locked and safe. We wanted to explore the bike routes around and outside the city, so Peter let us use his numbered maps and gave us tips! We rode all the way to the coast in The Netherlands and back on some amazing bike-only trails and small country roads. (We highly recommend!) This was our 4th stay in Brugge - and each time we discover new treasures. This time we took time to see the windmills on the edge of the city; found a new coffee/wine bar we liked ("I Love Coffee"), a ribs joint just down from the B&B that had GREAT ribs (Ribs & Beer), and various walks along the back streets away from the crowds. We stayed in Suite Germaintje - very large, quiet, and lovely bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Only issue were a couple of mosquitos that found their way into the open windows. :-) Breakfast was fantastic. Good selection...excellent quality. We will definitely stay here again. Recommend it highly.

5This bed and breakfast is nothing short than perfect. When we arrived the owners were extremely helpful (this carried on throughout our stay with them calling restaurants and taxis for reservations) and let us check in early to our room where there awaited a nice chocolate gift. We had the Germaintje suite which was absolutely perfect. It was modern, warm and spotless (I am usually quite fussy about the cleanliness of rooms, but this was beautifully clean). Electronic shutters meant that we were able to have a good sleep, the bed was lovely and comfy and the bathroom with its walk in double rain shower and Jacuzzi bath really made it something special. The pictures on the website really do not do the room justice. The breakfast was nice with croissants, bread, cakes, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt and cereal to offer. The owners also offered us a selection of tea and coffee. The location is about a 5 minute walk to the main square which was perfect for us, so we could stroll back late evening after going to the great bars and restaurants that Bruges has to offer. It is also so close to the train station that it was only a 7euro taxi journey to the B&B. I honestly cannot fault this place, and would highly recommend it. Two nights was not enough so if you stay there – ENJOY!!

5My husband and I stayed at this beautiful B and B for 2 nights. It was one of the best we stayed during our 3 week trip to Europe. As everyone else has said, it was so convenient to the downtown and on a beautiful street. Monique and Peter were so friendly and really wanted to make our stay pleasant. They loaned us bikes to take a beautiful bike ride. Our room was so well laid out and clean. The shower was bigger than most and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was stellar with such fresh food and comfortable eating area. I highly recommend this B and B. It should be #1 for Brugges. Outstanding!

5We have stayed in many boutique B&Bs/Hotels in Europe - this one is exceptional, absolutely outstanding and worthy of all the positive reviews I read here, before making the booking. The location is perfect for sightseeing (both the tourist and non-tourist parts of) beautiful Bruges. The accommodation is everything you could possibly wish for but as others have said, it is Monique who adds the serenity, attention to detail and care that you get the best out of your stay, that makes this so very special. Since returning home, I have already recommended the Asinello by word of mouth and will continue to do so.We will definitely return to Bruges - still so much to see and do - and there is nowhere else I would want to stay. Thank you Monique..and we love the donkeys!

5My wife and I stayed here on our trip through Europe and Belgium in October 2013. We have stayed in a lot of BnBs and this one would definitely have to be one of, if not the best. Location - on one of the nicer streets of Brugge (although the whole town is stunning!!!), about a 5min walk north of the town square. The street is quite busy with traffic however the BnB itself is set back behind the front facade, so that you enter through an absolutely beautiful courtyard to the main house at the rear. Noise from the street is pretty much non-existent. Room - We stayed in the Baptiste and it was absolutely beautiful! Spacious, nice bed and big bathroom with shower and bath. Wifi was very fast. TV was huge although didn't get much use as most channel's are in the host nation's language. Service - Absolutely spot on. Hosts were there to help whenever required and were lovely to chat with over breakfast. We wanted to circle the town on bicycles and were looking at hiring from somewhere in town until we found out the BnB also has two bikes for guest' usage! Food - Breakfast was continental - beautiful fruits, yogurt, crossiants and little baked goodies - as well as soft boiled eggs and coffee. Couldn't be faulted! All in all an absolutely lovely stay... we will definitely be back!

5This is a place where a couple of intelligent people think about what they would like to experience themselves in accomodation then go ahead and build it. Everything is ordered, tasteful, uncluttered, utterly restful. Though quite close to the centre of town, the home has an entrance through a courtyard (delightful to sit on a warm day) and hence is very quiet at night. The bed linen and towels are thick and luxurious. There are bathrobes. There is kiwifruit and mango in the breakfast fruit salad, and the best croissants we had in Europe. Best of all, Monique and Peter were never intrusive but always available for advice or a chat. We felt truly looked after.

5It would be hard to fault Asinello. It's very comfortable, clean and stylish. Our room was large, well appointed with plenty of storage space and a superb bathroom. The hosts, Monique and Peter, are exceptionally helpful and friendly, the breakfast was great and the B&B location could not be better: within easy walking distance of the centre but far enough out to be away from the noise and hustle and bustle. My wife and I stayed for three nights with a couple of friends and we all agreed that Asinello helped make the visit to Bruges even more special.

5We arrived late because of a stop off in Brussels but Monique and Peter were extremely welcoming and immediately helped us find a place for dinner. The whole weekend was made extremely relaxing and reviving by our stay at Asinello but Monique also made sure we got to see the best of Bruges with her excellent recommendations and pointers for the more local and authentic experience. Oh and breakfast was great too, fresh coffee, fresh fruit, cheese, meats, yoghurts and pastries. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.

4Ottimo indirizzo con accoglienza calorosa all'arrivo e ogni mattina.

5We both loved this place from the moment stepped though the door. We arrived a little early (probably bad form as such a tiny set up was always unlikely to employ a vast cleaning team) yet Monique was warm and welcoming from the moment she answered the door. Her knowledge of, and love for, her home city was infectious. Quick to produce a map (and an excellent coffee) she ensured that our break got off to a flying start. The guest quarters are beautifully (and expensively) furnished. Breakfast is delicious, though continental, (if you are looking for ketchup and hashbrowns look elsewhere). And the location allows for the perfect combination of chocolate/beer based hedonism and total relaxation. A top class B&B, truly deserving of its status on Trip Advisor.

5Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Asinello B&B for 2 nights for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. It's a lovely b&b, very modern and clean and perfect for what we wanted. The location of Asinello is superb, in a quiet street away from everything but still a 5/10 minute walk to the main market square. We were welcomed by Monique and Peter who are the owners of Asinello and who are both extremely friendly and are very happy to help with any questions or issues you have. Monique kindly prepared breakfast for us early on our last morning as we had to catch an early train and also booked us a taxi - nothing was too much. The breakfast at Asinello was lovely, fresh croissants and other baked goods from the bakery that morning, fresh fruit salad, cereal, yogurt etc. It really set us up for the day. My boyfriend absolutely loved the coffee - 10 out of 10 just for the coffee! We would highly recommend the Asinello for anyone who is thinking of visiting Bruges as it really was lovely. The only niggly things we feel we have to share is that the main shower head in our shower didn't work properly, only a trickle came out of it and the blinds were far too light for us!! They were cream blinds (not blackout blinds) so the sun came streaming in very early and woke us up. Other than those two things we had a great stay and would definitely go back!

5I stayed in Asinello twice: once in December 2009 and once in June 2013. As a seasoned traveller who has seen all 5 continents, I can assure you that this is probably one of the top 10 b&b in the whole World. I think there are 5 things that make this place very special: 1- The owners. Monique, Peter and Laure are wonderful hosts. You can stay there just to meet those incredible people! 2- Location: All tourist attractions of the old town are walking distance. 3- Design: All rooms are very tastefully decorated. The bed is large, very comfy. 4- The Breakfast: Small things, like home-made cookies and home-made marmalade make it very special. 5- Hammam: When was the last time you saw a hammam inside a b&b? So in a nutshell- strongly recommended!

5My husband and two young daughters (3 1/2 and 18 mo) stayed for 2 nights in the loft room. It was plenty big for all of us to sleep and move about comfortably. Peter and Monique were very helpful and warm and patient with our curious girls. The B & B is beautifully decorated and bed was extremely comfortable! We enjoyed the common area as well as the outside seating space. Breakfast was delicious! I would highly recommend Asinello B & B and thank you Peter and Monique for making our stay so comfortable.

5I highly recommend this B&B. It truly is one of the best we’ve stayed in throughout our many travels. Peter and Monique have designed and decorated it beautifully, modern and very comfortable. We had the loft room and it was very spacious and ultra clean. She has many lovely touches in each room and the bathroom was divine. We wished we could have stayed longer. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh bakery items, cheese, meat, & eggs, cereal and lovely teas and various coffees. They gave us a map and indicated tourist and non tourist places to see and do. It certainly gave us a chance to see Bruges as a local, since Monique was born and raised there.. The main town square is a 10 minute walk and reminded us so much of Sienna’s main square. There are many restaurants close by. We had a lovely meal at Kok au Vin just down the street. There is also a laundry mat a few doors down the street. Thanks Peter & Monique for a wonderful stay, can’t wait to come back! Ron & Doris

5Asinello B&B is wonderful!. The owner's show such amazing hospitality. I stayed in the Marie room which was soooo comfortable. The bed was amazing. The room was plenty large for 1 person, bc I was traveling alone, but two people would also be very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very nice as well (croissants, eggs, meat, cheese, cereal etc). There is also a steam bath available for use. I was able to get maps of Bruges and Gent. Bruges is such a beautiful city, your stay here will make the trip a fantastic one. The B&B is also very close to the market square, but Bruges is not that big so walking everywhere was fine for me.

5Booked this b & b on the basis of other reviews on trip advisor. I can say we were definitly not disappointed. Its a fantastic b & b with a great location approx 5 mins from the city center by foot alongside a very clean modern interior. The hosts Peter and Monique were extremely welcoming and also very willing to help you with restaurant suggestions and places to visit. We were given a suggested walking route around the city by Monique which enabled us to enjoy all the sights in one day. I would strongly recommend staying here. Fantastic location and great service. Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. If we come back to bruges we will stay here.

5We have just spent great time in Bruges not only the town itself is beautiful and charming in all ways, but also because of amazig b&b Asinello. Thanks to Asinello owners it is beautiful quite relaxing and romantic place to stay. Starting with beautiful entrance, yard, designed cosy rooms, warm welcome and super breakfast of Monique, drinks available always downstairs, hamam, even umbrellas to take if you need it, so everything taken to the detail. Besides that, nice and convenient location, quite street, couple restaurants and bars around, bus stop near by, couple nice shops too. Thank you again for fantastic stay and we hope to be back someday! Karolina and Tomas

5Stayed here for 3 nights in February with my girlfriend. It was our first time staying in Bruges. Before we arrived Monique replied to all our emails which was nice. We were greeted by Monique upon arrival and shown to the room. The room (Baptiste) was very nice - spacious and modern with a VERY comfy bed and luxurious bathroom. We slept very well with no noise. Bath and shower were very nice. Please be aware that there is a glass door separating the bedroom and the bathroom, which has a frosted part however it is still possible to see a lot through it! The bedroom as a HUGE wardrobe so you can bring plenty of clothes as there is so much storage space! The chocolates were a neat touch, along with our extra valentines ones, thank you! The b&b was located just a 10 minute walk to the centre which was great and very handy. Breakfast was delicious - choice of a boiled egg, croissants, fresh fruit and bread rolls etc. Flexible times too. The only minors I can think of is that it would be nice to have tea/coffee tray in room instead of downstairs, and that the water could have been replaced on each night, but these did not at all ruin our stay, very minor. Also the toilet roll ran out on the last day so it would have been nice to have had this replaced too. Overall I would definitely recommend staying at Asinello. I felt very looked after by Monique. I think it would be extra special in summer time as there is outdoor seating too!

5We are a couple and we stayed at Asinello the last week of November last year in the room Marie. The room is very nice and cozy, the bathroom is also very nice and clean with a big shower. There are a lot of small details that makes you feel very welcome, such as chocolates and a few beautiful donkey toys around the room. Something that we appreciated a lot was that the place is very quiet and safe. The breakfast is very good as well and Monique was always there for anything we needed. She also offered us a guide book and an umbrella and let us leave the luggage after the check out. The location is very convenient, it is around 10 minutes walking from the main attractions. We used the hammam and It was a very nice experience. We will book again for sure in our next visit to Bruges. Thanks Monique and congratulations for having such a beautiful bed and breakfast!

5I booked Asinello for a Christmas surprise for my family and we stayed there 2 nights with the entire family. Great place to stay! Charming, cozy, nice design, modern bathroom, super breakfast with home made fruit salad, mmmmh, and near all touristic places. What we really appreciated was the fact that we could go out and come back whenever we wanted. There were no specific rules like you often find in a bed&breakfast, even breakfast could be taken at the time we wanted. Thanks Monique, we will definately come back. Best regards, Annelies

5De ontvangst is echt zeer hartelijk!

5Gorgeous b and b- we absolutely loved this place! Felt right at home straight away, Monique was on hand to offer a very welcome drink and some good tips on what to see. She sorted us out with a walking tour so that we could see the best bits of Bruges and avoid all the touristy parts. She also gave us some good tips on restaurants and advised that we would need to book a table - which we found to be good advice! We stayed in Baptiste - a lovely room with everything you could wish for and more. Not only was there a huge multiple jet shower, but a spa bath too - amazing!! We took some champagne with us and left it to chill for the day in the bathroom sink - when we returned from a day of sightseeing we found 2 champagne glasses, chocolates and a note from Monique to say that she had put the champagne in her fridge for us! Breakfast was great - croissants, fresh bread, eggs, fresh fruit and yoghurt and all presented beautifully. A really special place to stay, would highly recommend it, especially to couples. Very romantic!

5We stayed at Asinello for two nights and absolutely loved it. We were welcomed by Peter and Monique with a good cop of coffee and a nice chat, which was very nice after a three hour drive. Asinello is a beautiful, modern B&B with attention to detail. The cute donkeys and chocolates on our bed were a lovely touch. The rooms are very clean and modern. We stayed in the room Baptiste, this room has a spa bath, which is wonderful for relaxing after being out and about in Bruges all day. The B&B is close to the city centre, but away from the major hustle and bustle, which makes for a good nights sleep. Breakfast is good, with fresh fruit salad and home made jam. For ultimate relaxing, there is a steam room, unfortunately we did not find the time to make use of it. Monique also gave us a map with tips for things to see in Bruges and a great dinner tip for our anniversary diner. Stay here, you will not regret it!

5Super B&B! Monique and Peter's hospitality is warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home; relaxed and free to enjoy the beautiful city of Bruges. 'Asinello' is wonderfully located near to the centre (5 minutes walk), which is perfect. The rooms are very clean with a modern decor; and the breakfast (which is continental) has a wide choice from fresh fruits to pastries, yogurt to cereal and really tasty boiled eggs. Monique and Peter will do their utmost to make your stay a happy and enjoyable experience. Remember to ask Monique for one of her maps; her knowledge of the area is vast and her tips for places to visit, drink and eat will ensure you a great time in this wonderful city.

5Everything about this place is very sleek, from the interior design to the tiny detail such as the cutlery. The Madame- an ex doctor Monique is obviously very passionate about her guest house and is an incredibly warm and very helpful hostess. We had the small room (we went on a busy weekend and the other two were taken) and cannot fault it. Has a steam room- very good quality one. A healthy breakfast, everything fresh. Thanks Monique!

5Bruges (Brugge in Flemish) is utterly beautiful and our visit there was made all the more pleasant by staying at the Asinello ("little donkey" in Italian) a 3 bedroom B & B close to the centre of everything. The pun is that the B & B is on Ezelstraat, Flemish for "Donkey Street". The rooms are very modern with all the conveniences you could want, the decor is very tasteful and a little whimsical - little donkey motifs throughout - and the couple (and their teenage daughter) who have created and manage the place are delightful people. If you are going to Bruges (Brugge) your visit will be made even more pleasant by staying at the Asinello..

5My wife and I stayed in the smallest of the three rooms at Asinello for three nights. We highly recommend it. Comfortable, adjustable bed; great bathroom; great breakfast; free wifi; and a friendly and very helpful host. The area is quiet and away from the hubbub of the city center, but it's only a 10 minute walk to the bell tower. It was not warm enough when we were there to use the patio, but it looked lovely. If we ever get back to Bruges, we'll definitely stay at Asinello (although we might spring for the larger room!).

5My husband and I were traveling across Europe this summer and had the opportunity to stay in many wonderful hotels and B&B's, but Asinello was by far our favorite place. Monique was extremely welcoming and accommodating. She made us feel right at home. The entire B&B was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable. They thought of everything that a guest would need/want when away from home, like chocolates on our bed and a fridge full of beverages. Breakfast was great, the Turkish bath was a fabulous bonus, and the location was perfect - just a short walk to everything but on a quiet street. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was amazing, and the entire place was well designed and inviting. Monique mapped out a beautiful and fun-filled biking/walking tour for us, highlighting the best restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed Vino Vino for food and beer. It didn't seem touristy and had a great local vibe and food. We wouldn't have gone there without the suggestion from Monique. Bruge was an amazing place to visit and I think Asinello played a big part in making it our favorite stop; it truly was an outstanding place to stay. When we return to Bruge we will stay here again, without a doubt!

4We stayed in the Baptise room for 2 nights in May. The room, and whole house for that matter, is very modern. The bed is very comfortable and its height can be adjusted for when you at watching TV on the huge flat screen. Very cool. The bathroom is also nice... Quite large with not only a shower but a spa bath! The stay also included access to the haman (steam room) downstairs, which was a lovely treat. Breakfast was nice and fresh, especially the delicious bakery goods. My only negatives would be the lack of toiletries (no soap, tissues, shower cap etc) and, more importantly, the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke. The house itself did not smell like this, it seemed to just be our room. I am not sure if a no smoking policy exists however, if not, it definitely should as the odour did not pass until the final day of our stay. Other than this big negative, which is probably a fault of the previous guest, I cannot find more fault. Monique was a wonderful host who welcomed us warmly and provided us with a great itinerary for our stay in Brugge. Lovely place!

5We stayed here for 3 nights recently & were sad to leave. Beautiful, quiet sanctuary a short 5min stroll from the hustle of Brugges town square. Lovely short walk into the centre which let's you experience some of the smaller streets of Brugge. Monique & her family are great hosts, generous with their time & information - they helped us with some ideas for bike riding & directions to a bike mechanic who helped fixi my husbands bike. We were given a map & a great walk to do around the town which takes in some of the lesser known spots around town. Delicious breakfast & very clean, modern surrounds in amongst a lovely old building & pretty outdoor spaces. Free wifi. Free parking 5mins away outside city centre, we left our car there for 3 days with no problems. Couldn't recommend this enough if you are considering a stay in Brugge, then you will do well to stay here!

5We were blown away by the quality of this B&B, close to the town abut far away enough not to be in the thick of Brugges busy tourists spots. Walk is less than 5 minutes to the main square which is great as you get to see plenty on your stroll home. Our room was huge and had the best bed we slept in our entire trip. Bathroom was amazing, huge againwith a two person bath and and a vertical massage shower....AWSOME The owners are lovely and very non intrusive, be sure to ask Monique for a personalized map as this will give you multiple perspectives of Brugges in under an hour's walk. This was a highlight of our stay. Monique also recommend probably the best restaurant we have eaten at for a long time, only a few hundred meters from the Asinello B&B front door. Very very nice, if your thinking about staying you will be more than impressed.

5The B&B is located in the old town centre within a short walk to all the major attractions. The check in process was lovely- efficient & we were offered some tea. The place has been beautifully renovated - minimalist & artistic white clean lines with tastefull touches everywhere the eye sees. The room is spacious & very comfortable. There are two boxes on our bed each containing a beautifully belgium chocolate each night- which was a lovely touch. There is also complimentay bedside water. The roomis white with accents of charcoal it has a lot of natural light. The bathroom is spacious & modern- there is a spa bath, double vanity separate double shower, everything is so clean & beautiful. Parking is an issue in town- but we were pointed to free parking which was only a short walk away from our hotel. Wifi was free & was excellent. We are given a good neon highlighted map of the old town & given excellent advice on where to walk, what to see & where to eat that's incorporates the key tourist route as well as routes a little off the beaten track. We felt that we had a more authentic experience. We need to wash some clothes as we have been on the road for a couple of weeks- this was not a problem. Breakfast is very good beautiful fresh fruit, fruit juice & very good coffee, fresh bakery items- very good quality produce used. There is also a Hamman ( steam bath) at the b&b that you can book - which is worth doing. We loved our stay here- the charm of the old with the comfort of the new & spacious. Worth every dollar! You will not be disappointed if you stay here a lovely modern sanctuary in a beautiful old town.

The weather was kind of bad, but the Bed and Breakfast was so cosy, Monique and Peter very welcoming and reserved at the same time. The room we had was the Badtiste, clean, confortable and pretty. The breakfast was fresh and inviting! I'm usually very demanding, but there my expectation were not disappointed. The Turkish Bath is just perfect! (especially in rainy days!) Also very good was that Asinello is in the center but not in the middle of the touristic madness which if you go to Brugge you have to expect!

5We stayed at the Asinello for 2 nights in April. We booked the studio on the top floor which was clean, light, airy and very spacious. Peter and Monique were friendly and keen to make us welcome. We used the Hammam on both evenings of our stay and found it wonderfully relaxing after a day sight seeing. Our hosts gave us a good city map and showed us an excellent walk aroung Bruges which took us to areas not usually visited by tourists. Our breakfasts were perfect. The location of Asinello is ideal - just a 10 minute walk to the centre. On the way, try to call in at the Republiek which is the cafe/bar attached to the cinema - great atmosphere and delicious fajitas! We would certainly recommend the Asinello for a great visit to Bruges.

5God it is great to get things right when you plan a romantic trip abroad! Never have we felt this way more than this time, when we decided to spend two nights in Monique and Peter's splendid Asinello Bed & Breakfast. We could not recommend it highly enough! For starters, Bruges as a world heritage town will offer you the most remarkable opportunity to view ancient, historical buildings during your stay, and the sheer beauty of the town will remain with you for the rest of your life. But when it comes to settling for a place to rest your weary legs and call a temporary home for the stay, the Asinello B&B gives you exactly what you need: luxury, comfort, incredible personal service, a relaxed atmosphere and caring, local hosts who will personally look after your every need with a smile. They and their bed and breakfast were on a par with Bruges itself, a simply unforgettable experience which made our trip the success we'll always remember. If you are looking for the "authentic Disneyland experience" of Bruges, maybe you'll be better off finding an antiquated and overpriced hotel in the town centre, complete with heavy draperies, stuffy service and monstrous package tours as clentelle. At the Asinello the experience is somewhat different... Ultra modern interior design and incredibly well finished facilities, including Jacuzzi bath and immense rain-showers, a fully awesome turkish sauna, large bespoke suites (much larger than the pictures made it seem actually), and similar stunning design throughout the communal areas. Best of all was that, as there are only 3 rooms you will be cared for as if you were family, and we loved the personal attention given to us by our hosts, who amongst many things organised flowers and chilled champagne for our Wedding Anniversary trip upon arrival, and gave us tips on alternative areas to walk through away from the well-trodden tourist sights. Ideal for those who want a personal, local and modern take on the Bruges fairytale. We will most definitely return... Many thanks Monique and Peter!

5Wow! Last december we stayed in this fantastic B&B for the second time. Again we received a very warm welcome by Monique while enjoying a glass of bubbles and a 'Brugse zot' (very nice local beer). We decided to choose this B&B for a second time, because of the clean, well maintained and very stylish and nicely decorated rooms. The breakfast is just perfect! The fruit salad is yummie! As a bonus: this B&B is just a 5 minute walk away from the historical center of Bruges. So you're never far away from a nice museum, shop, restaurant or pub. Highly recommended! And we will be visiting this B&B for a third time for sure! Birgit&Jan

5We stayed at Asinello this past weekend and we were so happy to choose this B&B. This was our first time to Bruges and our time spent there was much more enjoyable to have a great B&B. The key things that stand out are the exceptional service from Monique and Peter from the moment we clicked "confirm" for our reservation to our check out time. We slept in "suite germantje", although it is pricey it is worth it. The style and design really stand out and ooze high quality simplistic modernism meets old. Bed was extremely comfy and the bathroom almost makes you want to spend more time there with the jacuzzi and rain shower. Personal touches like chocolates on the bed each morning and complimentary drink on arrival are great. Breakfast was well presented and many options to choose from. Classic continental with fresh juice, coffee, pastries, fruit salad etc. The location couldn't have been more perfect. It was central and within walking distance to all the main attractions yet because of the neighbourhood where it was situated it was much more quieter and didn't have the hustle and bustle of Markt. There were plenty of great restaurants and bars in the area and were slightly cheaper than in the center. B&B's like this in my opinion are better than hotels as sometimes you don't get a genuine feel for the city and it's residents. We would definitely return here again if we were to visit Bruges a second time and would highly recommend it.

The web site pictures say it all, beautifully styled, exceptionally maintained & very clean. Breakfast was a smorgasbord of delight : fresh local breads, cheese, fruit salad etc. & Monique made sure you wanted for nothing [including the best boiled eggs I've ever had....that little donkey is magic! :) ] So thank you both for a weekend we will never forget x

5Monique and Peter were fantastic and welcoming. The photographs were good on the website, but they didn't really do the place justice. You open the front door and walk into an amazing hidden patio area, everything was top notch. Then the actual place is designed and fitted out to an extremely stylish, high calibre level. We had booked the suite at the top of the building, and it actually took our breath away - all exposed beams, high ceilings, beautiful windows. The colours it was styled in have inspired not just us, but our friends to think about their own bedroom. The bed was a lovely comfortable king size bed with high grade cotton bedding. We also took advantage of the jacuzzi bath and the shower was big enough to have a party in! We also booked the Turkish bath and the four of us trooped down the stairs, all wearing our lovely fluffy robes! The bath was well received by us all - we had been up since 3am that day so after a bit of sight seeing it set us up for getting ready for dinner that evening. There is a friendly restaurant just across the road if you don't want to venture too far - I can recommend the fajitas and ribs! Monique is meticulous about the cleanliness of the place, and I have to say we didn't expect the rooms to be cleaned each day because we were only there for two nights, but no, Monique was having none of that. A lovely touch was the belgian chocolates left on our pillow each day. The breakfast was to die for - the fresh fruit salad alone was amazing, but the breads, pastries, cheeses and ham were all excellent quality and I think they were all organic and fair trade. Monique kindly cooked us perfect boiled eggs and they were beautiful, cooked to perfection and the yolks were almost orange. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending Asinello to anyone who appreciates the finer things in life and all at a very reasonable price. Thank you Peter and Monique!!!!

5Monique & Peter's website & photos are great at giving you a sneak preview of what you are in store, but still cannot prepare you for your arrival. You enter the courtyard and are whisked in to a photo shoot with every step you take. Monique maintains a very standard when it comes to breakfast with many high quality options to choose from, or just indulge yourself by trying everything!! Cleanliness is Monique's mantra with every inch of the building being pristine. A Fantastically appointed b&b (don't forget to try the Turkish bath!!) with great friendly service and helpful advice (if wanted) on what to see or where to eat. A great little bar/restaurant is just across the street for those lazy nights when your legs will not carry you any further. Thank-you Monique & Peter for a wonderful two nights at Asinello.

5We selected this b & b from Tripadvisor ratings and visited last week. Excellent accommodation away from city centre, but within easy (5 mins) walking distance. Suite was very spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I have a 'thing' about showers - this one was excellent. Hostess Monique was an absolute peach - as charming as she was helpful. Breakfast was fine and once you master the room lighting, you will be in clover. Own keys - come and go as you please. Do yourself a favour - book this place - I cannot recommend it highly enough.

5It has taken me far too long to write this review but feel better late than never! What an amazing B & B. Spent a long weekend here for the Christmas markets with my mum and daughter back in November. We booked the suite at the top of the B & B which could accomodate the 3 of us in one room. What a lovely room. Really large with plenty of space for 3 adults. An enormous king size bed and a very large double sofa bed. There was also a couple of lounge chairs. The bathroom was fabulous with a double or even triple shower cubicle and a deep jacuzzi bath. We were given lovely fluffy bathrobes which were used by us all after soaking in the wonderful jacuzzi bath. The hosts were lovely and friendly and very helpful when we needed advice on restaurants and places to walk. Monique highlighted a walking route through to the main square but through the residential areas of Bruges which was lovely. Breakfast was great - plenty of fresh bread, rolls and jam etc. A lovely homemade fresh fruit salad. We were also offered boiled eggs if we had wanted them. I was apprehensive at writing this review as I don't want other people to find this wonderful place - in case we want to visit again and they are fully booked! I can see why they are busy though - an amazing place which I can highly recommend to anyone. Thank you Monique for a wonderful weekend.

5We could not have a better time in Bruges, also thanks to Monique and her family! They gave us lots of advices on where to go, what to visit and tips on where to eat like a belgian. The B&B itself is a designer dream, with any little detail being thought carefully and gracefully. The room is spacious and the shower is great. The down stairs rooms were really comfy and welcoming. The location is good, on a quiet-ish road, but close to the town centre. If you are looking for a nice place to eat close by, we went to 'Coq au vin' just few doors away from Asinello and had a great meal (a bit expensive... but then everywhere is expensive in Bruges!). We would definitely recommend this B&B... thanks Monique, we could have not asked for better hospitality.

5We love to stay at B&B's when we travel and have stayed in many that we enjoy and a few that we regret. Asinello is one of the absolute best B&B experiences that we have had. Monique, who walks the perfect line between helpful advise and respecting privacy, will ensure you experience the best in Bruges beyond the typical tourist areas. She also gave us a contact for renting bikes up to the coast which was the highlight of our trip to Belgium. The B&B is clean and modern and the Hammam is the perfect way to relax after a day on your feet. Plus the B&B is well located for access to the entire village. Thanks Monique for a wonderful visit!

5A welcoming host, great breakfast, clean and modern rooms - all in all a fantastic place to stay. It's about a ten minute walk from the main Markt Square, and is a perfect base for exploring the city. Ask Monique (the owner) to draw a route on the map she will give you for the 'undiscovered' parts of Bruges, away from the tourists. We had a lovely couple of hours wandering through deserted streets on our way to and from on the windmills on eastern edge of the town. If this was how all small B&Bs were, travelling would always be a pleasure!

5We had such a wonderful stay with our most charming hosts, Peter and Monique. They couldn't do enough for us in terms of information in Bruges, good places to dine and making us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and we loved the spacious feel to the very modern interior. Our room at the top was light, very clean and quiet with some very nice touches (chocolates!). Bruges is the most amazing place - it has so much to offer we didn't want to leave. Highly recommended on all counts!

5We stayed for 2 nights at the Asinello B&B in Bruges and greatly appreciated its modern decor, comfort and cleanliness, and the warm hospitality shown to us. It's also in an excellent location, just a short walk from the centre of the old city. Monique is very helpful and thoughtful. For example, she marked on a map for us a walk through the old city so that we could better appreciate all of its charm and beauty, and not just the most popular tourist sites. She also lent us a quality guide book to take on our walk. We highly recommend the Asinello B&B - and Bruges!

5We had a lovely time during a weekend trip to the Asinello in Bruges. The rooms were extremely clean and well decorated. During the trip we rented bikes and took a 30 mile trip to the coast. Belgium is full of designated bike trails and the drivers are very courteous toward bikers. It was a wonderful stay and we are sure to be back again.

4I spent a couple days here with one of my friends while we were traveling through Bruges. The hotel is pretty and quaint. The owners are friendly and speak English well. W e stayed in top loft room, which was beautiful and big. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. The b and b only takes cash which is annoying but not the end of the world. I'd recommend this place for most travelers

5The Asinello B&B in Bruges is simply the very best B&B we've ever been to! Service and a unique design gies hand in hand with warm hospitality and a great location only a few hundred meters from the center of the old City. Don't stay anywhere else when you are in Bruges.

5We stayed at the Asinello for three nights. Without doubt one of the best places we have stayed at. I can't fault it at all. Monique, the hostess, gave us a really warm welcome & was very helpful & friendly throughout our stay. The decor was modern & comfortable & the breakfast was first class. Monique takes a pride in her B&B and it shows. Go to Bruges & stay at the Asinello. You'll have a lovely time.

5An all-time favourite for visiting Bruges! Nicely located in the centre of Bruges - but quietly. Very nice decoration combined with state-of-the-art equipement. Friendly hosts with great visit/restaurant recommendations... and definively the best croissants of Brugges and surroundings serve for breakfast! We'll be back soon!

5Ditto to all the kind reviews below! Our hostess was delightful and so very helpful. We loved our comfortable room (the middle one), and we were SO very impressed with the tender loving details in the design and decor both inside and out of the inn. This place truly was a favorite relative to B&B/Inns around the world. We hope you enjoy it (and Brugge, and the surrounding towns) as much as we did.

5My husband and I spent two nights at Asinello and had the best time. Monique welcomed us with open arms and truly made our stay so comfortable. We stayed in the smallest room (Marie), but were not disappointed. All the amenities were perfect. The room was very clean, modern and had everything we could ask for. Our only wish was that we stayed for a few more days. We will definitely return to Bruges and to Asinello one day! Trust me, you will not be disappointed if you stay here. Bruges is a beautiful and charming city and our stay at Asinello made it just that much better!

5We were greeted by Monque who gave us lots of helpful advise as it was our first visit to bruge. The rooms were of a style of a boutique hotel but not of boutique prices. There isn't tea/coffee making facilities in the room but they had plush coffee/tea making machine downstairs . There is also a nice little lounge to relax and read all the guidebooks on offer. The breakfasts were lovely especially the pastries, bread and fresh fruit salad. For dinner i recommend Pieter Pourbus restaurant which is close by and so much better than the places near the markt.

5......asinello B&B this modern, stylish, ultra-comfortable b&b is like an amazing cross between a 5star hotel and a b&b. it has the best of both. Monique is a super host. she picked us up from the train station when we arrived from ghent, AND she dropped us back after our stay....that's not all, we had an early flight from brussels so she happily, willingly took us to the train station at 5 in the morning... we stayed in the suite Germaintje and it was beautiful. the view from our window was to die for and the Auping beds helped us sleep like babies. the bathroom was exquisite - a rain shower, a tub with jacuzzi....the works. AND there's a hammam (turkish steam bath) that you can enjoy at your convenience. in a nutshell....its the place to be in brugge. we are most certainly are going back. and yes! the breakfast is amazing....especially the coffee...the best coffee we had in brugge!

5Asinello B&B is definitely one of Bruges best places to stay. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the main square, the rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculately clean and the owner, Monique, is so helpful and welcoming. She gave us a maps, advice and made us feel completely at home. We stayed in the Baptiste Room which is stylishly decorated and very spacious. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom is fitted with both a jacuzzi and shower. We were treated to a little surprise in our room each day. I would recommend staying here to anyone and hope to return one day! :)

And it would not ever be the same without Asinello, because: 1. very confortable (soft sheets, shower delicious, incredible hot tub) and very well decorated room ; 2. really good restaurant tips that Monique, the owner, gave us; 3. gentle and caring owners. 5I stayed on the top floor, in the suite in Asinello and would encourage anyone who is looking for accomodation in Brugge to try to book it. When I was looking for options to spend two nights in Brugge I did a lot of research. Hotels, B&Bs, apartments all have been considered. And I need to say that my choice of Asinello ended up to be the perfect one. i find that the price for such accomodation is very reasonable, not cheap but you get more positive experience then from the top rated five star hotel: talented design of room, interesting views, state-of-the art bathroom and location. The only recommendation for owner is to have a set for a tea or coffee in the suite as it would be a nice idea to have tea in your spacious room made by yourself. I recommed booking this B&B for everyone who enjoys accomodation in style! Thank you, Monique, for your business.

5Everything was perfect: croissants & breads from the best patisserie in Bruges for breakfast, beautiful, stylish rooms with great showers, and a convenient location. The property is located on a quiet street just a short stroll from the market square. Monique is a charming, helpful hostess who pointed us to the best bicycle rental, best restaurants, etc. She attended to requests promptly and cheerfully. Other perqs: bunnies, a private courtyard and comfy robes that matched the decor.

The Suite Germaintje is a spacious room with modern facilities like jacuzzi, rain shower, DVD player and flat screen TV. 5I was recommended this hotel by a friend for a trip I took with my mum to celebrate Mothers Day. Usually we would just go for the cheapest option, but as this was a special occasion I persuaded my mum to go for the Suite Germaintje. Even the impressive photos on the website don't do this room justice! It's EPIC, absolutely huge and beautifully finished. Massive (heavenly comfortable) beds, jacuzzi bath, the largest raindrop shower I've ever seen and also vast skylights that allow you to lie back on the bed staring out and daydreaming! It was certainly worth EVERY euro - and the ideal location to come back to after a day of walking and exploring! The location is excellent, perfect walking distance to the town centre and market, but far enough out to feel tranquil and peaceful, hidden from the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend going to the closest restaraunt (can't remember name but it translates as 'the pot' or something similar) which was phenomenal - we had the Chefs special set menu and it was easily the nicest meal I've had in years (including London and New York!) so an absolute treat.... plus you only have to stagger across the road to get home ;) Back to Asinello - Monique the owner makes you honestly feel like part of the extended family. She is warm, genuine, chatty and perfectly friendly but without being intrusive. She seems very perseptive in knowing when you need help/to chat but also when you are just happily relaxing. As our first time in Belgium and Bruges; we had many questions and queries which Monique was endlessly patient with and helpful! Breakfast time was a total joy - the pastries and items on offer were divine, so fresh and delicious (try the chocolate spread!!!) and Monique was always there to keep you topped up with as much coffee as we needed to get on your way! Monique made us feel like we were at home and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this B&B to anyone and everyone, in fact I want to take back everyone I know! I was massively enchanted by Bruges, but equally by Asinello!

5We traveled to Bruges for a weekend away and decided to book at Asinello after seeing the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor. The service was really great - the family really wants to make your stay pleasant without intruding on your privacy. Monique gave us tips and outlined on a map a nice walk including some beautiful places outside of the normal touristy routes. They made some special breads for me for breakfast at my (early, via the website) request for wheat-free to accommodate my allergy. It was above-and-beyond what was necessary and was very much appreciated. From the details in the decorations to the delicious breakfast, I would recommend this little place to anyone looking for a little bit of quiet, tasteful luxury.

5We went a weekend to Bruges to celebrate valentinesday. We had a lot of unforgetable moments over there! From the beginning till the end we supposed to be in a 5***** hotel. The accomodation was so nice. The owner of the B&B, Monique is such a sweet woman that gives you the feeling you're at home. The centre of the historic city is just a few minutes walk. I would like to recommand Asinello to all the people that love quietness, enjoy a enourmous breakfast and sleep in a supersized bed! We also enjoyed the hammam, that was a great experience! I can only give you one more advice, just book your stay at Asinello, a time you'll never forget! Greetz Katleen & Manuel

5This was our first trip to Bruges (and for one of us, to Belgium). We read about the Asinello B&B on TripAdvisor (and a snippet from The Guardian) and all our expectations were fulfilled. Monique was extremely friendly and helpful, recommending an excellent restaurant in the same street and preparing wonderful breakfasts for our stay. The location of the B&B is ideal: quiet but very close to the centre of the city. Our room was very attractive with a fabulous bathroom and comfortable bed. It's a shame the wind blew hard while we were there, we could only imagine how delightful it would be to sit in the courtyard on a warm summer's evening. If we had planned our time better we would have used the turkish bath on the ground floor - it would be a great way to relax at the end of the day after walking round the beautiful city of Bruges.

5Everything about Asinello is just excellent. The rooms are tastefully decorated, spotless and well appointed. In fact I extended my stay in Bruges because of this B&B. I found the location particularly appealing because I could easily walk to the museums, and all of the other attractions that Bruges has to offer. The street it is located on, has many interesting attractions as well. In addition, part of the package is the hamam located on the premises - a marvellous way to relax after sightseeing. The breakfasts are substantial, vary each day and there were always freshly baked croissants, danishes, etc. The owners, Monique & Peter are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are knowledgeable about the area and one is encouraged to borrow the many guidebooks that are located in the living room area. Asinello's website has many photos of the facility and these photos truly represent how charming the place is. I've stayed in many B & B's and this is one of the best and I'm so grateful to my friend & neighbour for recommending it.

5Stayed at Asinello for the New Year period and were very happy, after a very long journey, to get to a lovely warm welcome from the host. The room was nicely decorated and spacious and had the most amazing shower. We had a little tray with some chocolates in which was a nice touch and were invited downstairs by the owners for drinks and nibbles to celebrate the forthcoming New Year which unfortunately we did not see in as our journey was so tiring we were asleep by 9pm............but i heard the celebrations went off with a bang ;) The breakfast was very nice fresh croissants, breads, pastries, fruit, meat, cheese, cereal and an egg to how ever you so wished it cooked which definately filled us up for the exploration of Brugge. The B&B was perfectly placed very close to the centre but far enough out to be quiet. There was a Supermarket just a few minutes walk in one direction and the town centre a few minutes walk in the other direction. The owner was more than happy to help with any queries that you had and i would definately return to beautiful Brugge and if i did Asinello would be the first place i would think to stay. Warm welcoming family run business.

Do try out the Hamam. Don't let the B&B fool you : this is way better then almost all hotels in Bruges (and I have stayed in several). Will definitely come back. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

5My husband and I stayed for one night and wish we could have stayed longer! This B&B is very original and the host family is delightful. Monique made sure that we had a warm welcome and that we were comfortable and enjoyed our short stay in Bruges. She even marked down a beautiful walk through Bruges on a map for us. We were lucky enough to be there on Dec 6 so we were treated to chocolate treats from St Nicholas! The B&B itself is modern and stylish with great rooms. We loved the overall clean look and felt that it was a treat to stay there. Our bed was also so comfy! We were in the suite and really enjoyed the spacious area and the jetted tub. When we come back to Bruges, we will definately stay at Asinello again. Loved it and don't have one negative word to say about it.

5After a business trip in Amsterdam, I decided to combine it, on the way back, with a weekend city trip n Bruges, excellent place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Asinello was recommended by a colleague of mine, who stayed there last year. The B&B offers discrete luxury in the intimate atmosphere of a ancient monastery, situated at only a few steps from the city centre, close to the canals and the shopping area. As we arrived early, we had the opportunity to do a "sight-seeing" of the three guest rooms. The interior of each of them is different, all revealing a different style, but always with nice design furniture, flat screen television and best-in-class bathrooms (including rain shower). As we booked last-minute the only option was "Marie", the smallest room, but each detail of the room was perfect. Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with contemporary paintings, lighting and furniture. There is even a lovely hammam. Unnecessary to tell that this place attracts a wellness and design-savvy public. We also enjoyed the lovely breakfast, served by Moniek, the enthousiastic proprietress. So the answer to the next yestion "do you recommend..." ? Off course we do. Next time we come to Bruges, we'd like to come in the christmas period, must be an amazing experience as well.

5A jewel of a B&B situated in a quieter area of Bruges, yet it is only a short walk to the centre of town. We were given a very warm welcome, and received valuable tips for touring Bruges, as well as excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and chocolate shops. An enormous amount of heart and love of design is evident in the public rooms, the garden and the three guest rooms. Highly recommended from a frequent guest of B&Bs.

5Perfect blend of privacy, design, sophistication, and comfort. Asinello was everything we’d hoped for…a beautiful oasis in our bustling European tour. Greeted with a smile and treated to excellent breakfasts, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Our room (the Baptiste) was over the top --- beautiful, classy, comfortable, stylish --- and offered basic (and beyond) amenities. The whirlpool bathtub added a touch of absolute luxury, and the cozy bedding erased all twinges of being homesick. [Never sure where to bring this up, but ladies --- you will find a hairdryer in the room (always important to me).] This was our first trip to Bruges, but I cannot imagine thinking of staying anywhere else upon a return trip…I recommend this accommodation for all! Finally, one small criticism (and maybe this is just me being ‘too American’) is the bathroom, while private and in our own room, didn’t have a door. Probably not shocking for most people, but perhaps worth mentioning for ‘bashful’ couples?? Oh, and must mention this is Euros only…no credit, so remember to plan ahead for smooth ‘check-out’. We loved all aspects of our stay, so don’t hesitate in booking Asinello. STAY HERE IN BRUGES!

5We went here for a long weekend in October. The B&B is located in the old centre of Bruges, but close to the B&B you can find free parking space, which is really nice. The service was perfect. We were awaited by the hostess Monique, who took the time to drink a cup of coffee with us and explain us everything we wanted to know about Bruges. The Bed & Breakfast was decorated very stylishly and the beds had comfortable Auping mattresses, every room has a rainshower and there is a hamam you can use. The whole B&B breathes design. Since there are only three rooms the service is very personal. In the morning there was a extensive breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, different kinds of bread, a boiled egg and fresh coffee and juice. I really loved our time in Bruges, not only because Bruges is so beautiful and really is the Venice of Belgium, but a lot of it had to do with our beautiful, relaxing and comfortable Bed & Breakfast. Definitely worthwhile a trip to Bruges, even if it's just for the Bed & Breakfast!

5The hosts of Asinello made my husband feel so comfortable he forgot he doesn't like bed and breakfasts - he LOVED Asinello. Monique drew a map of a good walk.........she offered to drive us to dinner reservations.....it was clear she and her husband loved Bruges. Back to the husband - he was so impressed with the modern design, good bed, wonderful bathroom....and we had the least expensive room! I would suggest staying here for a good spa visit - stay a week - enjoy the atmosphere and walk, walk, walk around a beautiful city. We can't wait to return. (by the way we ate at Kok a Vin - the food was excellent and reasonable and just a block from Asinello).

5We stayed in the Bed & Breakfast Asinello in Bruges for 2 nights during the Summer period. If you are looking for a great place to stay when visiting Bruges, Asinello is a must. You will find a design B&B which was recently renovated with big, trendy rooms, an excellent extensive breakfast, a welness corner (hammam) and personalised service from the hosts Monique & Peter who are always willing to help you out with restaurants, places to visit or see, shopping... Bruges has lots of very touristic hotels which lack comfort, cleanliness or decent service - Asinello is by far a better alternative if you are spending a weekend (or even longer) in Bruges. You won't be disappointed, this is by far the best B&B we stayed in in Belgium...

5On our 2 week vacation traveling all over Scotland, The Netherlands and Belgium, Asinello B&B was by far our favorite place to stay. Monique went out of her way to make our stay very enjoyable such as mapping out a great walking path to take around Bruges and when she found out the that town buses were on strike, she even drove us to the train station herself! In the lounge area, Monique also had a wide variety of Bruges guide / traveler books for visitors to use and she had also created a binder containing her lists of best restaurants and sights which came in very handy. The room was very clean with all the modern bells and whistles you could ask for and had a very slick and modern design style. Free wi-fi was included with the stay which is always nice. I highly recommend staying here if you ever visit Bruges.

Jacuzzi, biiiig rain shower, soft towels, and not to forget the great hamman that is all included in the price. The service is very friendly, cosy, but not pushy. It is a B&B where people allow you your own space if you want that. They gave us great recommendations for dinner just a block away and we had a fantastic evening. I would recommend this B&B to everybody ... and I am picky ;-). Hope you will get a chance to treat yourself! Enjoy!! Regards, Izzy

5From our very first contact with Monique at Asinello B& B nothing was too much trouble. We arrived quite late, but Monique was there to welcome us with a refeshing drink, information about our lodgings and the beautiful city of Brugge - but not too much information. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and very substantial every day. Monique was most obliging with any requests we had of her. Words do not seem adequate enough to rate this establishment. We would have no hesitation in recommending this B&B and we plan to return very soon for another visit.

5for Bruges or for this wonderful B & B. Located in the old city, walking distance from all the sights, Monique and Peter have created a contemporary oasis in one of Europe's oldest and most beautiful cities. We were traveling with our adult daughter and needed a larger room for the 3 of us: what we received was a HUGE top floor suite with two double beds (slept like babies!), bright, modern furnishings, a wonderful bathroom with a rain shower and a separate jacuzzi tub as well as a flourishing orchid and adorable rubber duckies. The only thing with enough draw to make us even want to venture out and explore the city was Monique's excellent sight-seeing and restaurant tips. And then there was b'fast: OUTSTANDING!!! We WILL be back to Bruges and we WILL stay again at the Asinello!!

5I visited Asinello for our short honeymoon and stayed at "suite" room 2nd floor.. We were looking for a calm and peaceful place near city center after busy schedule, and I think we found the perfect place! I was (pretty positively) surprised by the quality of service and the place itself... Passing through a metal door with no particular characteristics, there's a little garden and modern yet comfortable salon. The room was spacious and very modern - yet charming, the bed was also one of the most comfortable I ever slept. The suite room has jacuzzi bathtub, so we were really hampering ourselves back and forth from turkish bath, jacuzzi, and in the morning nice jet shower... And the breakfast was so refreshing, including freshly made orange juice. Monique draw us nice walk course in the city, responded to every questions & cared for details.. I am mostly sure that I will go back one day in near future.

5My husband and I picked Assinello B&B after seeing the beautiful pictures on the internet. We needed a restful getaway while flights out of Brussels were cancelled due to volcanic ash. From the moment we arrived, Monique (innkeeper and owner) made us feel very welcome and at home. Asinello is a peaceful sanctuary (literally Donkey Sanctuary!) discreetly hidden behind a nondescript grey door. You pass through a short hallway and enter a cozy, colourful courtyard on your way to the inn. Once inside, there is a comfortable sitting room and dining room from where you can view Monique's two adorable bunny rabbits. Our room was the largest of the three, located on the 3rd floor. It was as beautiful as pictured on their website and had 6 cute little stuffed donkeys lounging throughout. Bathroom was roomy and modern and internet connection was flawless. Breakfast is simple - freash fruit salad, warm croissants and breads, ham and cheeses and preserves. The inn is a very short stroll from the historic centre of Brugges and Monique provided us with a map and a comprehensive do-it-yourself walking tour. She also gave us very good suggestions when we asked for restaurant recommendations. Brugges is more beautiful than any postcard and I cannot recommend Asinello highly enough - a tasteful boutique B&B in the heart of a wonderful city. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Monique.

5I have spent three wonderful nights with my boyfriend in this small, design B&B. Our room was the Baptiste Room of good size with large bathroom. The room was quiet and full of light, with a super confortable bed and a huge plasma TV. The bathroom was incredibly large and confortable, with two sinks, a huge shower and a jacuzzi-type bath. A delicious breakfast with a wide choice of pastries and hand-made jams was offered each morning by the most polite host I have ever met in my several travels. Monique, the owner of the B&B, is very kind and ready to provide her guests with everything they need. She even gave us a nice chocolate rabbit (as it was easter and in Bruges the Easter egg is rabbit-shaped) on Easter morning! The rooms are perfectly pictured in the B&B website. Everything is brand new, clean and confortable. The entire house seems ready for a decor magazine shooting session! Another important and strong points of this B&B is the location. The B&B is conveniently located just a 5-minute pleasant walk from the center and the street to the centre offers some good reastarants. I will certainly return to this wonderful B&B when I visit Belgium. Do not miss it!

5What a fabulous guest house, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. I went there with my partner, and family so we had the whole place to ourselves. Monique, who owns the hotel with her partner and daughter, provided excellent service and an impressive attention to detail making our stay all the more pleasurable. Monique and family have furnished the guest house to an insanely high standard with a combination of modern design and excellent quality giving it a rather boutique feel. Breakfast was fantastic: juice squeezed fresh by Monique that moring, fresh baked croissants, fresh coffee and many other delicious treats to get you up and sight seeing with a satisfied spring in your step! If you are thinking of coming to Bruges, the city itself is beautiful, romantic and relaxed, but the hotel made it even more appealing. The hotel is in a good, quiet location and can be reached directly by bus from the main train station and it is only a short walk into town... There's also a great cinema bar just around the corner which is great for a late night drink on the way back from your evening meal. We would definitely stay here again. It was great value for money, especially considering the high spec to which it was presented. Give Bruges and Asinello a go. You won't be disappointed.

5When I really like somewhere that's small, exclusive and little known (and this place only has 3 bedrooms) I'm always torn between writing it up on here and keeping it a secret but that would be a disservice to the family who run this place so excellently. If you like modern design but without sacrificing comfort then you'll love Asinello. Monique and Peter (the owners) have renovated the property quirkily and to a ludicrously high standard and take every possible care to make your stay as delightful as possible. Breakfast is great - proper coffee, freshly squeezed juices, rich croissants and a selection of other treats. The location is quiet but central - slightly recessed from a fairly quiet road and in its own small courtyard and Bruges itself is a beguiling and attractive place. I'm really not sure what sort of techy algorithms mean that this place is only ranked 33rd out of 123 b&b's in Bruges but in my view you couldn't have a better place to stay in Bruges. Asinello is a hidden gem.

5Wonderful 3 day stay, great location, with a lovely 5 minute walk to the main square. Aspinello is a wonderful space opening to a lovely tranquil courtyard, it has a very stylish, modern and relaxing design. The room was clean, comfortable and stylish with flat screen TV and remote control curtains. Fantastic bathroom with spa - a great place to relax in the middle of a very busy 3 week holiday. Monique and Peter are very welcoming hosts - good advice for what to do on the area and delicious breakfasts each day. Highly recommended!

5We had an incredible time staying here. We stayed in the larger top floor room, complete with jacuzzi, plasma tv and all mod cons. It was very spacious, modern and relaxed. Breakfast was lovely and served with great espresso coffee. A hidden gem in Bruges, would highly recommend to anyone - Five stars!

5Just back from a wonderful weekend in Bruges enhanced by the marvellous Asinello B&B. The quiet street door opens onto a modern courtyard garden, and the sleek cool interior (with brilliant calligraphy) is welcoming and tranquil. Only 3 rooms so it feels like staying with friends (Monique the owner is delightful) and the rooms themselves are modern, comfortable, extremely clean, and an oasis of calm to retreat to. I cannot recommend this B&B too highly - and am looking forward to my next visit there! It is only 1 5 minute walk (less on a bike) from Asinello into the centre of the old historic Bruges.

5IMPECLABLE! Asinello B&B gets all the points: -Location: City center, 5 min walk to Markt. It is in a nice quiet street that even at the busiest time is still quite quiet! -Rooms: We stayed in the suite at the top floor. it was simply marvellous: the most modern equipment (plasma tv, jacuzzi, perfect lighting which let you choose how much light you want in the bedroom using the lights or the electrically-operated window blinds), contemporary furniture, and "Auping" bed which is a famous and expensive brand known for its comfort. They also provided us with a practical cot for our 2 month-old baby. -Service: the owners Monique and Peter, are fantastic hosts. Since the first contact by e mail making the booking they were friendly and helpful. They received us with a nice glass of wine and a pleasant chat in the living room. Also gave us very good recommendations for food around Brugge. - Cleaneless: perfect. You can see in the pictures I have added. - Price: Incredible price for the quality and service you receive. Staying in Asinello is like sleeping and having breakfast in a modern art gallery. Monique and Peter dedicate their time and creativity to make every corner of their house very special. What you see in their web site ( http://www.asinello.be/ ) is exactly what you get. No overdue photos. I have no doubts recommending Asinello!
